Which hamster toy should I buy?

Question by Elle: Which hamster toy should I buy?
If you can recommend any hamster toy from any website in the UK only. Under £5.
One of my hamsters has a bog standard cage with a wheel, house and toilet roll tube in. He loves to climb on the bars and spends lots of time in his house. He likes his wheel but has gotten pretty bored of it.
I would like, for him, a toy to play with, doesn’t matter if he can chew it or not, maybe something that provides a little platform thing because I think he would like that. Must be under £5.

My second hamster has a slightly bigger cage. It is still a standard wire cage of one level, but has a little yellow platform with a ladder leading up to it. She has a house where she spends lots of her time, she has a wheel which she loves and a tube which she is a little unsure about because I only put it in yesterday. She loves to chew the bars but won’t chew any flavoured wood blocks or mineral blocks I put in. She also loves to climb on her wheel and will happily sit on top of it. She likes to climb the bars and sit on top of her little blue house. I want to remove the tube because it is too big and take up too much cage.
I want a proper toy for her, not something to chew on.

So what do you think they will like? You can recommend a different toy for each hamster but they must be under £5 each. Thanks!

One can be more than £5 and the other can be less. As long as together they add up to no more than £10
I said I don’t want chew toys.

you can buy chew sticks from meijer for about $ 3 or a hamster ball price depends on size of hamster

my robo hamster has a bald spot on his head and below his neck. how did he get them and how do you get rid of them???? and i just got him!!!!!

You’re better off taking him to a vet. It could possibly be ringworm and that is highly contagious-even to humans.

What are some toy idea to keep my hamster busy, I just want ideas homemade or store bought.

when i had a hamster it loved to run around the house in a ball. it is safe to, and it wont escape. they also like wheels in their cages, and my hamster like slide ( hamster size) … but most hamsters don’t like slides. if you want to keep it busy give it wooden sticks for chewing on. you can get safe ones at your local pet store.

My hamster died a month ago. She was my first hamster. I cleaned out the cage and put it away for future use. I was walking by the pet store yesterday and went in to look at the hamsters. The sales guy told me that I would want to get a new cage for a new hamster. He said the old hamster’s scent is on the cage. But, all the hamsters in the pet store were all in one big glass bin with each other’s scents. Would it really matter to a new hamster? Would the old scent last that long on the cage? Should I wash the cage again? Was the sales guy just saying that as a marketing scheme to sell more cages?

My granddaughter has another hamster in the cage in which the first one died. Her Mom cleaned it thoroughly with disinfectant, and threw out any other things inside which might have been saturated with hamster urine or feces. I think they are trying to make more money off of you- that’s their job.

Where can i get a hamster cage?

I’m looking for a hamster cage with the basic accessories (food/water bowl, wheel ect.) with the price and postage under $ 20.

And they have to be able to mail it to Australia.
I don’t mind if it’s secondhand.

Try Petsmart.com or Petco.com They do sip.
But it may be a little more than 20 bucks.
