If you’re making your own, you’ll want something heavy so that your hamster can’t knock it over. You can either use a small, heavy bowl that you already have, or you could make your own out of clay if you really want to. Make sure that you use food-safe clay and glaze if you decide to do that.

Hamster dishes sold in pet stores are inexpensive if you decide to buy one. Again, small and heavy. A very good alternative is to buy a plastic bird food dish that hangs on the side of the cage. This way, your hamster can’t sit in the dish.

My hamster recently died and I bought all his food in bulk so I’ve got a lot of it left over. I also have a guinea pig and I’d not want the food to go to waste so would it be safe to feed him it?

If I’m honest.. I have no idea but you should go to the pet shop look at the brands there and pick one yourself. Then if your hamster appears picky change the brand because the fact is it depends on the hamster; whats best for him?

Little tip, the expensive ones are normal better ;)

I left a bag of hamster food on the floor and my rabbit tried getting into it and wouldn’t stop even when I moved she was trying to clime into drawer it was in when I left it open, ha ha.

I know they can’t have it on a regular basis and I would only give her a very small palm full if it won’t harm her.

It’s ok for her to have some as a snack since rabbits can have the same food mix but it’s better for rabbit to have pellets since these have all the nutrients she needs and she can’t seperate and eat the “yummy” parts and leave the rest
