I do not breed or feed!

I would like to start opening my home to little hamsters. Even though I am by far a hamster expert but I am experienced, I have a wonderful exotic vet, the internet filled with friends, forums and thousands of websites with information, a big loving heart and whole days to spend with them. I know that all to frequently hamsters multiply very quickly and before you know it, your pair or trio has exploded into an entire colony! Often pet stores say that they only sell one sex, male or female, to prevent breeding and confusion, but a great many times, the places they purchase their 'stock' hammies from, don't bother to proper sex their animals and in the end, you end up with a male and female pair. And because of this, sometimes, you end up bringing home an already pregnant female. So if you have too many hamsters because they accidentely 'got away' on you and created an entire population or your pet store sold you a pair or pregnant female, don't be afraid. I'd love to help and share my home with them and I will not charge a fee to take them in like most rescues!

NOTE:* Syrian Hamsters (also known as Golden or Teddy Bear): If you are looking to surrender your Syrian(s) you must include some sort of habitat for each hamster, whether it be a small tank or even a plastic critter home. Syrian hamsters are easy to handle and can be super sweet but they should not be homed with other hamsters of any sort because they do fight to the death. Even if you have a breeding pair, their living situation causes so much stress because they are so anti-social.

NOTE:* If you are looking to re-home any other breed of hamster not listed above (the five most common hamsters sold), you must include a cage or habitat for them. Same goes if you have aggressive hamsters that you know fight or bite. If you are looking to re-home pregnant hamsters, it is not required that you include some type of holding container but it would be nice.

- - - My home is also open to those hamsters that are no longer wanted, maybe not from accidental births... but because you've found out to late, that hamsters are actually nocturnal or that a great many of them tend to be nippy and bite, and aren't quit the great child's pet that a pet store or website made them out to be. Perhaps your child no longer finds their hammy as entertaining as they did before or someone gave you one for a holiday, birthday or special event and you now have no clue what to do with it.

You must be able to drop off your hamsters.

Donations would always be nice, and I'm not talking about monetary donations... but things like toilet paper rolls, left over food, bedding, dishes, lick bottles, foraging materials, toys, wooden blocks and chews, treats, baby blankets, towels and/or wash clothes. Craigslist itself offers a lot of items for small animals like cages, tubes and hide-a-ways that I don't see during the day that you could donate. If you are surrendering a hamster that requires a habitat because it's aggressive or anti-social, aquatic/fish stores sell small tanks, $1 per gallon, which makes for a great donation and a perfect home for your solitary little buddy!

Hi, we have decided to just keep our birds and cat,so our small animals need to go asap (our house is a mess cause we cant actually fit them right in)


anyway. i have a black and white short hair mouse,who was bullied for a day by his cage mate who we rehomed,and is a bit skiddish.

I have a carefresh hamster cage. I personally loved the cage, but it didn't go with my decor and hamster got old and passed away. It has the ability to hang on the wall and I have the mounts for it along with the wheel, water bottle, and food bowl. All pieces inside can be moved around to how you like it including the wheel. Online you can be more pieces that can go in the cage like cardboard cubes. It's a tiny bit skuffed in the front, but its cleaned and ready for a new hamster. I'm ask 15 dollars for it obo. Within reason I am willing to meet you to drop it off.

I have a full bottle of Hermit Crab food, 2 food bowls, and a medium painted shell. I also have a 10 gallon tank but it doesn't hold water. I know it looks dirty but it was wet when I took the pic and I'll be washing it again before anyone take it home. It has some rocks in it that you can use for hermit crabs. It would be great for small reptiles. It has a lid like a fish tank (needs lightbulbs) but since its a pretty normal size you can probably find a wire one at a pet store, like Pratts.
